From 7 February through 8 June, Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting an exhibition of artworks nominated for the 2025 Erarta Prize – the only art prize judged by the viewers. The total prize value of 3.5 million rubles will be fully allocated towards supporting the artists and distributed among the nominees according to the viewers’ vote.
This year, for the Prize’s third edition, Erarta once again encourages the viewers to select their favourite artwork according to their own choices and preferences: the 2025 Erarta Prize exhibition was staged with the special aim of determining the winners through a public vote. The large-scale show at Erarta’s Grand Hall features the artworks by 40 contemporary artists – paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, photographs, installations, as well as other contemporary art media. Over the span of four months, exhibition visitors will vote for their favourite artworks and attend artist talks to make an informed choice.
Regardless of the final outcome, all nominees will receive a guaranteed reward that will depend on their exact rating score. The voting will take place in two rounds. The first voting round will last from 7 February through 21 April. It will determine the 10 shortlisted artists whose works will compete in the second round scheduled to run from 22 April through 5 June. The winners of the 2025 Erarta Prize will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held at the close of the final voting day.
Launched in 2023, the Erarta Prize was justly awarded the title of Project of the Year in the Arts Category by the Delovoy Peterburg daily business newspaper. The enthusiastic feedback received from everyone involved – artists and viewers alike – keeps this project going. The 2023 and 2024 Erarta Prize nominees continue to actively collaborate with the museum: some of their works were added to Erarta’s permanent collection, and several artists were invited by the Curatorial Team to have their solo exhibitions at Erarta, eight of which have been staged already. We are looking forward to new exciting discoveries!
