Art-Animation enables Erarta to take the viewer beyond the frames of paintings to the realm of fully drawn out stories, in which paintings themselves are just snapshots, individual moments captured from a stream. Short animated films expand the artist’s work in time, either developing or extending upon the original concept or sometimes giving it a new direction. The varied styles of execution, unexpected plot twists, the humour of some and fine aesthetics of others make the animated films interesting to all ages. Professional animators participating in the films’ creation also often showcase paintings in a way which helps the audience see works from the museum collection from a fresh angle. A selection of short animated films is on permanent display in one of the museum’s cinema halls while the overall project continues to grow.
You can also create your own art-animation ideas based on any of the works in Erarta's collection. If you're able to produce a video or an animation of your idea yourself, you can send us a ready-made clip, or, if you have a good idea for a scenario, which we can work on bringing to life, please get in touch with us — izokonkurs@erarta.com.
