Erarta Museum Announces an Open Call for the 2025 Erarta Prize

The Erarta Prize is the first annual contemporary art prize judged by the viewers rather than by a closed board of experts. Launched in 2023, the project lives on, thanks to the enthusiastic feedback received from everyone involved – artists and viewers alike.

For the Prize’s third edition in 2025, Erarta will once again encourage the viewers to select their favourite artwork according to their own choices and preferences. The museum will curate the contestants’ exhibition (select the exhibits and stage the actual show), but will neither take part in determining the winners nor invite other experts from the professional community to do so. This premise is consistent with Erarta’s core philosophy: art is being created by the artist, but it is the viewers’ perception that makes it truly powerful.

The 2025 Erarta Prize nominees’ exhibition will be on show at Erarta’s Grand Hall from 7 February through 8 June 2025, featuring 40 creations by contemporary artists. Each of them will receive a guaranteed reward that will depend on their exact ranking. The voting will take place in two rounds.

Entries must be submitted by 20 October 2024 through the online form at prize.erarta.com. All artists that had been nominated for the 2023 Erarta Prize and the 2024 Erarta Prize can also submit their entries for the 2025 Erarta Prize; however, their submissions may not feature previously submitted artworks.
