On 25 September, Friday, Erarta will host a concert by the St. Petersburg band “Polusa”.
Since 1999 these St. Petersburg guys have been making music without pathos and heart-rending guitar roars. They release their albums without labels and promote them without producer twists, ironically defining their own style as “choza music”.
There is a grain of truth in this comic definition. The music is multilayered: some see in it pre-funk guitars and blues harmonies, the others - finely woven northern ethnic motives. Some may like their philosophy: “there are no ties but the sunlight rays” or “you have to learn to wait if you want to be happy”. And Some enjoy the “earthy” details of their airy worlds: oscillators, magnetic fields and twirls of binary code ...
The band is free from genre canons. They let themselves to cross the lines, break the rhythm and combine the incongruous, if the heart tells so. A combination of unobtrusive electronic music and guitar indie rock. It’s been ten years since the musicians started their beloved, stylish and honest project.
Participants:
Ilya Razin — vocals, guitar
Victor Sankov — bass guitar
Anton Novikov — drums
Dmitry Pavlov — guitar
