On the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare, a British writer and the world's greatest mind, the XI International "Musical Hermitage 2014" festival organizers has made an unusual program including video art, literature and music.
You will hear Shakespeare's sonnets in English and Russian, performed by actors from the UK and Russia such as Terry Sweeney and Konstantin Malyshev, who starred in "Saint Petersburg", a Russian – British film. The sonnets will be performed together with musical improvisations, a surprise from an international music band. The members of the Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet are Hugo Ticciati, a British violinist, Yuri Honing, a saxophonist and Joost Lijbaart, a Dutch drummer, as well as Sergey Yevtushenko, an artistic director, composer, pianist and improviser. He composed the soundtracks to "Russian Ark" and "The Last Station".
The festival is held within the UK-Russia Year of Culture-2014.
